Roll Out Shelves: Slide Your Way To A More Efficient Racking System

Roll Out Shelves

With roll out shelves, hard-to-reach items are practically a thing of the past. All you have to do is to pull the drawer out and slide them back in—it’s that easy. You don’t even have to worry about running out of options. Roll out shelves are 100% customizable to help you truly meet your exact storage needs.

Roll out shelves, also called as sliding shelves or pull-out shelves, are a type of wooden or steel storage system that use a roller mechanism to smoothly guide the shelves in and out of the cabinetry. The slides are available as full-extension or ¾ extension types. Rollout shelves can be incorporated into your pre-existing pantry, kitchen cabinets, or cupboard system by a qualified dealer.

A standard, non-sliding shelf is really not good for our body. Why? It’s because it doesn’t promote proper body mechanics. You have to bend, kneel, and stretch your arms just to reach items that are situated at the back of your cabinet drawer. And that could lead to backaches and muscle straining problems. Bu that could be avoided by using sliding shelves.

If you’re into DIY projects, installing these sliding storage shelves will be a piece of cake for you. The installation process will take about 5 to 10 minutes to finish. Generally, these come as pre-assembled units when delivered to your doorstep. But if you’re hesitant to do the job, you can always get the help of your local handyman or shelf dealer. Just be prepared to pay an additional fee.

Rollout shelf systems are used in different applications. At home, you can install these in your kitchen cabinetry, pantries, garage, bathroom vanities and cabinets. These are also used in the overall design of living room furnishings like center tables, armoire, and desks. A standard rollout shelf is able to hold up to a 100-pound.
For industrial applications, most pull-out storage shelves available on the market are commonly made from solid steel materials. Each shelf is expected to support 2,000 to 3,000 pounds of weight. These are found in industries like auto repair shops, steel components manufacturing plants, and aircraft bases. A good example of a steel-made pull-out shelf product is the Extendo-Max, which is offered in Ridgurak.com.

The pricing of these is really relative. It could be affected by individual special needs. A free home estimation would usually confirm the total amount you’re going to spend for these shelves. If you search online, the price of each shelf could sell for $30 to $70, more or less. When ordering online, make sure that you follow the supplier’s measurement instructions to prevent any manufacturing errors. These take about 2-3 weeks or so to make and deliver.

A rollout shelf is a great organizer fixture. With this, you can expect a clutter-free environment and efficient storage. Roll out shelves will literally make your life a lot easier.
